Finding schools to enroll in was challenging when the academic year started, especially the most suitable school for Accountancy around the University belt. Yet, Ivan Raphael Leones came across the National Teachers College Tarpaulin, and as if it was his last straw, he enrolled. However, the most significant driving force that led him to enroll was its affordable tuition, and from that day forward, there was a spark of humility.
Ivan, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at NTC, is now successfully working in one of the most esteemed companies for Accountants, Navarro Amper & Co. / Deloitte Philippines as an Audit Associate.
According to him, “My life before NTC was quite uncertain. I was not so sure of the decisions and path that I was taking until I set foot in NTC.”
For Ivan, the National Teachers College became his guiding light as he pursued his ambition, and despite graduating and being successful in his chosen career, he still carries with him the value of humility.
Moreover, Ivan believed that his education was his investment. Thus, he looked for ways to finish his studies. Ivan even tried to apply to be an agent for a BPO company. However, he realized he was not ready to take on the role because he lacked communication skills. Fortunately, a relative offered a helping hand and provided for his needs until he graduated.
“Education is an investment worth taking into consideration of all its risks and rewards attached to it. It has no maturity; thus, it accumulates continuously as an individual goes on with their life,” according to Ivan.
Truly, financial resources significantly impact education and one’s prized ambition. That is why NTC firmly believes that delivering quality education does not require charging higher tuition, and this led Ivan one step forward toward his dreams
Moreover, NTC guarantees that students with ambition, like Ivan, will have access to high-quality education as they also experience the joy in quality education in an affordable price. Ivan’s pride in his humility as an NTCian is his greatest attribute and drove him to success.
Despite the uncertainties, Ivan remained standing, more sure of himself than before stepping foot at NTC—truly a great embodiment of what an NTCian is.
NTC, a premier institution under a Yuchengco-Ayala educational partnership, ensures that Filipinos will have access to quality education at a reasonable cost.
