Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (MIT-JWEL) will feature National Teachers College in a webinar on Promoting Agency in Teacher Education and Development on February 4, 2021 (February 5, Philippine time).
Dr. Edizon Fermin, NTC VPAA, and Mr. Noel Jeffrey Torregoza, NTC Director of Learning and Development, will illustrate how the National Teachers College responds uniquely to the need to establish a culture of agency among pre-service and in-service teachers.
The session is part of the Teacher Education and Professional Development Webinar Series. J-WEL members and the MIT community will come together to share their approaches to professional development for teachers.
Dr. Fermin and Mr. Torregoza will present the training approach used by NTC, informed by outcomes-driven learning experience design, as well as employability-oriented delivery and assessment. They will also talk about how the experience was made fun and frustration-free, even for under-resourced teachers. The session will also discuss how to use this framework to carry-on sustainability and scalability engagement, taking into account remote learning conditions during the pandemic and even beyond.
