The National Teachers College and the officials of Barangay Mambugan spearheaded the tree planting event last November 26, 2022, in Ruhat, Brgy. Mambugan Antipolo City.
The participants included the executives of NTC, administrators, teachers, students, and barangay officials. The tree planting event promotes new hope by planting trees for the new generation and aims to restore the lost forest, repair damaged ecosystems, and mitigate landslides, especially in the city of Antipolo.
Antipolo City is prone to landslides due to its high altitude, and like any other developing city, trees are becoming scarce, and the risk of landslides is higher. With the given situation, NTC recognizes the urgency of climate action and upholds its core value: dedication to service. Thus, NTC led the tree planting and provided Bamboo, Narra, and Kupang Tree saplings.
Moreover, as students participated in the said event, NTC hoped that the students did not only experience but lived up to their responsibilities as the light-bearers of our nation to protect our environment and help reduce the consequences of climate change.
