An institution with a good learning environment cultivates leaders, which is one of the characteristics of the National Teachers College. Through the years, NTC has produced leaders in different industries, and among them is Mr. Jameson H. Tan, President of Bulacan Agricultural State College.
Mr. Tan’s experience in NTC prepared him to transition into his position as a leader since he gained the necessary skills to lead a state agricultural college. Aside from that, he can apply the values and learnings he obtained from NTC to inspire others to dream more, learn more, and do more to become more.
According to Mr. Tan, “My graduate education at NTC has exceptionally prepared me for a smooth transition from teaching to a leadership position with a perspective in life. NTC also provided me with the skills necessary to lead a state agricultural college to succeed. I feel that the experience I gained was truly valuable as it has prepared me for my leadership career as SUC President.”
His admission in the Doctorate program also helped him to get over the barrier of the modern world. Thus, he became familiar with the utilization of technology. Despite his age, he overcame the obstacle that might hinder his success with the assistance of NTC. His predilection for research aroused because of the high-skilled faculty who helped in preparing and writing his research.
“I am already 49 years old when I enrolled in the Doctorate program, and being not tech-savvy is one of the challenges that I have to get over while studying at NTC. The preparation and writing of our research work is an intricate experience, but with the highly qualified faculty, my inclination to research work unfolds. For graduate students, having to research without enough exposure in research methodologies and knowledge related to the area can be the most challenging experience but NTC makes it easier for us,” said Mr. Tan.
The National Teachers College shapes students to be leaders by developing their potentials and upskilling them. It also bridges the gaps of generation and technology that help them succeed as leaders in their respective industries.
